ASSISTANT ENGINEER / ENGINEER

ASSISTANT ENGINEER / ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of workers and sub-contractors to perform on-site hull blasting and painting activities.
• Assist in manpower and resource scheduling and deployment, daily man hour returns and co-ordinate in all aspects of site issues.
• Liaise with owners and paint representative on complying with paint specification requirements.
• Attend the daily VSCC meeting.
• Obtain blasting/painting permit and entry into confined space permits or any other work permit system.
• Monitor job progress and ensure quality work at targeted schedule.
• Prepare reports on job status and project completion.
• Inspect vessels and ensure proper handling over to customers.
• Liaise and coordinate with other departments on project issues.
• Any other associate tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
• Ensure that his workers and subcontractors check and maintain all the high pressure equipment before each operation.
• To maintain safe and healthy working environment in workplace and to ensure correct safety practices are adopted by all men under his charge.
• To maintain proper housekeeping at his work site.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of blasting and painting operation, understand and able to interpret technical drawings and paint specification. Able to make decision, render judgment and take appropriate actions.
• Preferably with at least 5 years working experience in a shipyard or a similar capacity.
• Open to Foreigners as well as Locals
